Wooden Wick Candle Care

For a cozy, crackling glow that enhances your space with warmth and tranquility

1. First Burn:

When lighting your wooden wick candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.

2. Trim the Wick:

Before lighting your candle, make sure the wooden wick is trimmed to about 1/8 inch. This helps reduce the flickering, provides a steady flame, and minimizes soot.

3. Light the Wick:

Wooden wicks may take a little longer to ignite than traditional cotton wicks. Once the wick is lit, allow the flame to stabilize for a few minutes to ensure an even burn.

4. Keep the Wick Clean:

If the wooden wick develops a “mushroom” top, gently trim it off before the next burn. This will help the wick burn more evenly and produce less smoke.

5. Burn in a Safe Area:

Wooden wicks create a soothing crackling sound, but they can also produce larger flames compared to cotton wicks. Always burn your candle in a safe, stable area, away from drafts, and never leave it unattended.

6. Avoid Over-Burning:

For optimal performance, avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow it to cool before relighting to preserve the wax and fragrance.

7. Maintain the Right Environment:

Keep your wooden wick candle away from drafts or air currents, as they can cause uneven burning or flickering. This ensures a steady flame and an even melt pool.

8. Storage:

When your candle is not in use, store it in a cool, dry place with the lid on to preserve the fragrance. Keeping the wick clean and protected ensures a smooth burn every time.

9. Extinguish Safely:

Do not use the bamboo lid to extinguish the flame, as this poses a fire hazard. Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame instead.
